In Simulacro, our lighting design aimed to support the realism of the scenography while introducing a fictitious layer, aligned with the conceptual framework of the piece: the coexistence of multiple realities. Through special lighting executions created specifically for this production, we generated an effect-driven atmosphere, full of visual cues that echoed the music and reinforced the narrative fragmentation. Suspended above the stage, we installed a large 10 meter diameter pixel LED ring that allowed us to frame the scene from a utopian and shifting perspective. This element not only visually defined the space but also responded to the physical dynamism of the choreography, marking transitions and enhancing the energy of the dancers movements. Additionally, the ring projected light from an unusual angle, casting moving shadows created by the dancers own bodies, adding an extra, almost sculptural, visual layer that continuously transformed the perception of the space.
